Howard C. Herrmann, MD, is the John Bryfogle Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the former Director of Interventional Cardiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories. He graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Herrmann has authored or coauthored more than 500 peer-reviewed publications, with a primary research focus on valvular and structural heart disease. He serves on multiple editorial boards and is an Associate Editor of NEJM Journal Watch Cardiology. In addition, he consults for several medical technology companies, including serving as Strategic Chief Medical Officer of Carvolinx, Inc. Dr. Herrmann is a past Governor of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and has received the Master designation of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has been recognized in Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Docs, Best Doctors in America, and the Guide to America’s Top Doctors for more than 25 years.
